Max Rowe

Trained as a physicist, Max began his career in academic research undertaking mathematical modelling of the oceans and their role in climate. Following his first degree from Imperial College, London, he gained a PhD from University of Southampton and held post-doctoral positions at University of Southampton, Cambridge University and Oxford University. Moving to the oil & gas industry, Max had a varied career spanning a range of technical and business disciplines including: economics and strategic planning; asset management; commercial agreements; technology management; and quality management. His roles included team leadership and executive management. Since 1990 he has held a number of non-executive directorships, including being Chairman. He has also acted as an expert witness.

Whilst working Max gained an MBA from Henley Management College. He is a Chartered Engineer and became a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Member of Institute of Directors. He is an Honorary Professor at University of Aberdeen where he chairs the Advisory Boards for post-graduate courses in oil & gas and in renewables, provides advice on commercialisation of University IP and undertakes postgraduate teaching. Max is a natural strategist and conceptual thinker.

Rosalind Rowe

Trained as a control engineer and with a career that started in a regional gas company automating previously manual systems and continued in gas with work on metering in the national gas distribution system before moving into the upstream oil and gas industry. She had a varied career in oil and gas with technical specialist roles and leadership roles spanning: HSE; facilities modifications; new development projects; metering and allocation; subsea inspection, repair & maintenance; and integrity management. Rosalind is particularly known as an holistic and lateral thinker and good at explaining complex systems and interactions in a straightforward manner.

In addition to her first degree (Cybernetics Science); she won a scholarship through which she was awarded an MPhil from Cambridge University, is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of both the Institute of Measurement and Control and of the Institution of Engineering Technology. Rosalind is an excellent mentor and teacher, currently teaching at postgraduate level.
